STUDYING AT NORTH PENN AS A FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENT
North Penn High School also welcomes exchange students from abroad who wish to study in the United States. This program allows foreign students to experience American education, participate in our school community, and live with a host family in a safe and caring environment.
Exchange students will have the chance to:
Attend classes at North Penn High School
Participate in school activities and clubs
Share daily life with a host family while adjusting to American culture
Gain a greater understanding of the United States while sharing their own culture with others
REQUIREMENTS FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL IN THE USA
All foreign exchange students must provide the following before traveling to the United States:
Completed application
Completed Private Physical Examination
Proof of proper health insurance, or arrangements to purchase adequate insurance (see guidelines)
Information on arrival dates, including times and airline details
Disclosure of specific allergies (animals, food, or medications)
Disclosure of any specific needs (including medications)
A proper J-1 visa: students will receive a DS-2019 form, which must be presented at the American Embassy to obtain the visa
